One Response to “Whitepaper – AC Inspections – The Legislation for Building Air Conditioning Systems”

  1. Philip Salaman says:

As a CLG authorised Accreditation Scheme for AC inspectors, we are very concerned at the level of compliance of the EPBD regulations.

Firstly, there are very few affected buildings that have commissioned AC inspections.

Perhaps more significantly, there are thousands of reports being produced that are not being “lodged” with accreditation schemes (e.g. CIBSE, HVCA, Quidos etc.) – where assessors are creating reports that do not comply with CLG guidelines. In effect “bogus” reports, that will only dilute the quality of the report, and have a negative effect on appropriate recommendations to building operators.

A solution to this, would to make it mandatory to lodge each AC inspection into the government central register, maintained by Landmark.

Without this, I fear that AC reports will eventually be produced by rogue assessors, providing clients with poor and potentially worthless advice
